Tuition Assistance

We are proud to offer personalized approaches to help Jewish families manage tuition.

Each year we provide tuition assistance to over 50% of our families to ensure that every qualified student has the opportunity to attend Rochelle Zell Jewish High School. All information regarding tuition assistance awards is held in the strictest confidence.

It is the philosophy of Rochelle Zell Jewish High School to keep the school within the financial reach of all our families. Having qualified, motivated students from diverse economic backgrounds strengthens the school in many ways. Our need-based tuition assistance program enables us to enroll students whose families are unable to afford the full cost of attendance.

Tuition assistance awarded in the first year of attendance will be consistent throughout the student’s tenure at Rochelle Zell Jewish High School unless there is a significant change in the family’s financial circumstances. Financial need is determined by many factors including income, certain expenses, assets, allowable debts, family size, number of children attending tuition-charging schools and colleges, and costs associated with synagogue membership and Jewish summer camp. Need-based awards can range from $1,000 to full tuition. The average award is approximately $16,000. Applying for financial aid does not influence admission decisions.

Other Ways of Reducing Your Tuition

  • Applications submitted prior to December 15th will automatically receive a first year tuition credit of $250 plus an additional first year tuition credit of $250 if the student enrolls prior to the March 31 deadline.

  • Submit your b’nai mitzvah $250 certificate. We offer these certificates to synagogues. If your synagogue did not give you a certificate, speak with them about participating in our program.
  • Reach out to your Rabbi or synagogue for information on additional scholarships.

How To Apply

Tuition Assistance Applications will be available beginning October 5 and are due February 5, 2021. If you apply for admission after the deadline, the Tuition Assistance Application needs to be submitted within two weeks of the Application for Admissions. Funds are limited, so families are encouraged to apply early. Families of incoming freshmen and their siblings will receive notification of acceptance and tuition assistance determination by mail.

Log in to FACTS by clicking here and complete the online application, after which you will be prompted to mail/upload the required documentation to the FACTS offices.

Tuition Assistance Application Process

Families need only submit one application per family. Families with students at more than one school that have an existing FACTS account need only add their student attending Rochelle Zell Jewish High School to their application.

Please note that while the timing of submission may precede the filing of your 2020 tax returns, all tuition assistance awards are ultimately contingent upon a final review of the most recent year.

FACTS will notify you and Rochelle Zell Jewish High School via email once your application is complete. Contact the RZJHS Director of Finance and Business Operations for additional assistance with the process.

My name is Arielle Penn and I decided to enroll at Rochelle Zell because of the great community and supportive and close relationships with teachers. Throughout my years at RZJHS there have been many opportunities for me to grow as a person. I participate in volleyball and basketball, as well as clubs like DECA. RZJHS’s community is like no other. The friendships I’ve made across all grades have been more than I could have hoped for.
