Congratulations to junior Lucy Rowe for being named an honoree in the Illinois Music Education Association 2018-19 Composition Contest! Lucy won first place in the "Vocal - Solo to Chamber Ensemble" category for her composition titled "Waiting for the Sun to Rise" for vocal solo and piano accompaniment. Lucy submitted a performance of her composition as well as written music notation in order to qualify. Her composition faced tough competition from students across the entire state of Illinois. She has earned a spot at the Illinois Music Education Conference which will be held in Peoria January 24-26th, where she will participate in composers workshops and clinics, as well as attend performances by the All-State choirs, bands and orchestras also in attendance. Congratulations to Lucy on this outstanding achievement!
