Ariela Robinson is coming to Rochelle Zell as the new Humanities Department Chair. She will be teaching Sophomore English as well as AP Literature to Seniors. She is a doctoral graduate of the Interdisciplinary Ed.D program in both the Teaching of English and Art Education departments at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has spent the last 15 years teaching High School English in both New York and Israel. She returns now to Chicago, the place where she was raised, and is returning as a teacher as well as a practicing visual artist. Carrying her artistic knowledge and experience with her, she has carved out a space in her English classroom that utilizes hands-on art-making practices as learning tools, specifically to engage students in reading and writing. She is a mother of three and resides in Evanson.
