" I’ve learned a lot about the types of qualities I need to have to be a good leader. I’ve learned to be self- sufficient, self-motivated and determined so I can successfully complete any project from start to finish."
On behalf of our entire CJHS community, we extend a heartfelt Mazal Tov to Dr. Rebecca Schorsch and her family as she heads to Washington D.C. to receive the prestigious Covenant Award for excellence in Jewish education. The awards dinner will take place this Sunday during the General Assembly of The Jewish Federations of North America.
Dr. Schorsch is one of three recipients of this year’s award along with Alison Kur, Executive Director of Jewish Living at Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, and Rabbi Yisroel Boruch Sufrin, Head of School at Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy in Beverly Hills, CA. They join 69 other Jewish educators who have been honored with the award since it was established in 1991 by the Covenant Foundation, a program of the Crown Family Philanthropies.
Upon her return to CJHS next week, we will celebrate Dr. Schorsch’s achievement with a panel discussion in her honor. This will take place on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m., here at CJHS. The topic of the discussion, which Dr. Schorsch will moderate, is: “How does the Jewish education we provide contribute to the Jewish future we imagine?” The panel will feature Dr. Schorsch’s counterparts at our main feeder schools and other institutional partners, including our own Rabbi Zach Silver.
Please join us for this evening of learning and celebration and RSVP to Sheri Sandrof at firstname.lastname@example.org or 847-324-3723.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
