Deerfield Review: Rabinowitz looks ahead as Tigers fall

DEERFIELD — “A torn ACL was painful for Chicagoland Jewish girls basketball player Lena Rabinowitz, but what didn’t hurt was that the sophomore had an orthopedic surgeon for a father.

A three-sport athlete (she also plays soccer and volleyball), Rabinowitz injured her right knee during soccer season in April 2012 and underwent emergency surgery two days later. With the guidance of her father, Dr. Richard Rabinowitz — who works out of Barrington Orthopedic Specialists but did not operate on his daughter — she began a rehabilitation program to build strength in the repaired knee…”
